Get ready, get set...

People have started to ask me what we need for the baby. Assuming that the baby will be born full-term (we hope anyhow) and that it will be coming home with us, here are the items I think we will need the most that are on our Babies R Us registry:

1. Car seat & extra base
2. Pack-n-play (this is going to be our bassinet)
3. Breastfeeding supplies (pillow, creams, pads)
4. Breast pump and bottles (I would like to start pumping around 3-4 weeks just to get the baby used to breast and bottle)
6. Stroller (Snugride stroller frame that works with the car seat)
7. Diaper bag
5. Diapers/wipes/lotions/soaps

We are actually going to give cloth diapering a try. Before we invest a bunch of money into the supplies, we thought it might be wise to try a diaper service to see if we like cloth or not. So, if you'd like to sponsor our baby's bum, the company we plan to use is:

We ordered the crib/mattress/changing table today and hung the nursery curtains yesterday...I will post a pic in the coming week or two of the baby's room in its mostly-finished state.

And, this child of mine just relayed a message for me to post (morse code...we have a system devised by the number and speed of kicks). She/he says thank you so much for helping mommy and daddy get ready for his/her arrival...from painting the nursery (thanks gramma Cooley), bringing me and mommy so much good food (thanks Jen, Esther, and Irma), helping daddy get work done around the house so he can spend more time with mommy (thanks gramma & grampa Cooley & auntie Kathy), bringing mommy's books to-and-from campus so she can keep up on her work (thanks Bridgette), loaning mommy clothes to cover her big tummy because she can't get out of the house to go get her own (thanks Rebecca), and sending mommy emails/cards/well wishes to keep her spirits up (thanks everyone)!!
